The school curriculum is intended for the holders of B.A. in Art and Human Sciences or the M.A. students of corresponding departments at higher educational institutions. It disseminates knowledge on theories of the history of modern and contemporary art (Armenian and international) as well practical skills in the areas of creating art collections and organizing expositions. Apart from critical reading of artworks, texts and commenting practices, the interdisciplinary nature of the classes also allows the students to gain analytical skills in social, political, institutional and market contexts that currently behold a possibility to be tested/assessed at the Theory and Project Labs of the ICA. The supplementary workshops, lectures and presentations as well study visits to museums, art centers and galleries in Yerevan and other towns of Armenia, meetings with the leading figures of contemporary art in Armenia in the frames of exhibitions or studio visits create an opportunity for the students to get involved into the functioning art scene already at the stage of their studies. The main classes are curated by leading historians, theorists, curators, art and cultural critics with international ranking. The application process includes a motivation letter and the most recent CV. The decision will be taken based on the interviews with the selected applicants. An excellent command of a foreign language (preferably English) as well as a compliance to school regulations are acknowledged during the final selection process. The classes start on 1 October and take place on Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays at 18:30-21:30 The application deadline is 30 August.
