INTERSECTIONS: PRACTICES OF CURATING, EDUCATION AND THEORY

The essays collected in this volume, tackle questions related to the possibility of critique, cultural agency as well as propose new ideological positions. They operate in the intersection between art, society and politics as well as on the crossroads of theory, practice and criticism. The texts intersected in a specific place, in Yerevan, within the framework of the Summer Seminars Program for Art Curators, throughout a period of five years.

TOWARDS COLLABORATIVE CURATING: CURATORIAL EDUCATION REDEFINE

Towards Collaborative Curating is a complex and multi-stage project which involves networking between several partner institutions – AICA-Armenia, Critical Spaces group within the University of Plymouth, UK, AICA-Macedonia, Beral Madra Centre for Contemporary Art in Istanbul, SCCA-Alma-Aty in Kazakhstan, SCCA-Ljubljana, Slovenia and Townhouse Gallery in Cairo, Egypt. The partnership involves curriculum development for art management and curatorial studies in the countries of partner institutions, organization of seminars and workshops, networking and publication of critical texts.
