{"id":3594,"date":"2025-05-29T07:25:19","date_gmt":"2025-05-29T07:25:19","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/uim.aup.mybluehost.me\/activities\/love-is-electric-again\/"},"modified":"2025-05-29T07:25:19","modified_gmt":"2025-05-29T07:25:19","slug":"love-is-electric-again","status":"publish","type":"activities","link":"https:\/\/ica.am\/en\/activities\/love-is-electric-again\/","title":{"rendered":"LOVE is electrIC Again"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>This summer 2016 the ICA commissioned a site-specific mural by Yerevan born artist, Samvel \u201cSaga\u201d Saghatelian entitled \u201c\u054d\u0535\u0550 is Electric\u201d. The work is an elaboration on \u201cLOVE is electric \u0537\u201d, a graphic signboard the artist created in June 2015 at the time of the Electric Yerevan protest. Now, one year later, Yerevan has seen a second protest that, although not concerning electricity, was perhaps more \u201celectric\u201d in its intensity, mediatic coverage, and violence. <\/p>\n<\/p>\n<p>The mural and its original signboard are part of the artist\u2019s \u201cPolitical and Personal Protest Signs\u201d series, which takes a playful formalistic approach to the contrasting forms of Latin and Armenian letters. His \u201cprotests\u201d emphasize love (or its lack thereof), whether personal, societal, or governmental.
