From May 21 to 24, graduates of the 3rd edition of the “How to Survive as an Emerging Artist” program, Mariam Hakobyan, Zaruhi Tovmasyan, Hasmik Sahakyan, and Hrant Khekoyan, participated in the Tbilisi Art Fair 2026. Their works were exhibited in the “Human Acts” pavilion, presenting the works of students and graduates of the Department of Visual Arts, Architecture, and Design of the Free University of Tbilisi. The pavilion was curated by Irena Popiashvili and Giorgi Miminoshvili.
Irena Popiashvili is a Georgian curator and the Dean of the Department of Visual Arts, Architecture, and Design of the Free University of Tbilisi. She was an invited expert for the “How to Survive as an Emerging Artist” program, where she got to know the young artists participating in the program.
The artists’ travel expenses to Tbilisi were covered with the support of the ArtNexus program, funded by the Swedish International Development Cooperation Agency (Sida) and implemented by the Swedish Arts Grants Committee.
