NEST Art Residency
The NEST Art Residency welcomes artists, writers, curators, cultural managers, and art researchers, providing them with the opportunity to live and work in Yerevan while developing individual projects and immersing themselves in Armenia’s creative sphere.
Since its opening in 2013, NEST has hosted over 150 residents from all over the world who contributed to create a vital connection between the Armenian cultural scene and the international artistic community.
Located in an elegant villa within ICA Yerevan, NEST Art Residency provides each resident with full accommodation and working space. The residency space includes two private bedrooms, two art studios, a shared kitchen, and a shared bathroom. ICA Yerevan’s main building houses a library, two auditoriums, and a full-equipped kitchen and a garden, all of which are at the disposal of the residents.
Moreover, the ICA team provides essential resources, tools, and documentation to support every stage of a resident’s project. The team facilitates introductions to local experts and practitioners, helping residents deeply engage with Armenia’s contemporary art scene.
Outcome
Residents are expected to share the outcome of their artistic research. The format (presentation, exhibition, performance, screening, workshop, manifesto, etc) is up to the resident. Additional events or workshops must be organized with the approval of ICA.
Funding
Applicants are responsible for covering the residency fee which includes rent, utilities and administrative support. The ICA team will issue acceptance letters for successful residents and support their applications for external grants to cover the residency fee.
Pricing
Fees are to be paid in advance.
- 17.000 AMD (~40 €) per day;
- 90.000 AMD (~220 €) per week;
- 330.000 AMD (~800 €) per calendar month (30–31 days);
Please note that secondary occupants sharing the same room will incur an additional fee equivalent to half the base guest rate.
