This time we are screening Xavier Dolan’s Heartbeats (Les amours imaginaires) that premiered in the Un Certain Regard section of the 2010 Cannes Film Festival. The film tells a story of two friends whose friendship is tested when they get seriously interested in the same young man. Drama develops from the first minute of the film, showing how the deepening difference in perceptions of affection and friendship can erase the elusive borders between them. Slo-mo, great soundtracks and almost poetic scenes create a unique experience/film.
