At two opposite sides of the world — between Chile and Armenia— two girls enter into a secret and apparently impossible dialogue. On San Cristóbal Hill in Santiago, Carmina explores the reflections of light and the hidden resonances of the stones, which reach Leah like coded messages as she walks through the landscapes surrounding Mount Aragats. Through the reinterpretation of astronomical archives and legends, driven by geological vibrations, the two girls transform the sky and the land into a shared space for the imagination. Spanning different temporalities — historical, geological, mythological — this short film traces a poetic correspondence where science and fiction intertwine, revealing new possibilities for naming the unknown and inhabiting the earth.
As part of their residency at the ICA, artists Louise Martin Papasian and Celeste Rojas Mugica will share film footage and photographs that will become part of a future film and installation. We invite you to join an open conversation about their creative process and the research they have carried out in Chile and Armenia over the past year.
